How it works

The model is a rolling weekly grid built around one threshold you set once and a status column that watches it for you.

  1. Assumptions: Set beginning cash, your minimum-cash threshold, and the forecast start date
  2. Forecast: The 13-week grid where you enter expected weekly inflows and outflows. Both are entered as positive numbers; the model handles the subtraction automatically
  3. Reference: Integrity checks and a glossary defining each metric

Steps to use it

  1. Open Assumptions and set beginning cash, min-cash threshold, and start date
  2. Open Forecast and enter expected weekly inflows and outflows in the blue cells
  3. Each week, update beginning cash to the actual bank balance, shift inputs one column left, and add a new week 13
  4. Watch the status column: it flags any week where ending cash falls below threshold

Status logic is built in: OK at 1.5x the minimum threshold or above, WATCH between 1.0x and 1.5x, TIGHT between zero and 1.0x, and BREACH for any week ending below zero or below threshold.
