P&L by SKU

$69

P&L by SKU builds a complete unit-economics waterfall for every SKU, from list price down to contribution after marketing, for a single sales channel. Each SKU is ranked by contribution and tagged HERO, GROW, FIX, or KILL, so you can see which products actually carry the business. Formula-only, so it runs identically in Excel and Google Sheets.

Works in Excel & Google Sheets

Template includes both versions. One price, no add-ons.

How it works

The waterfall walks every SKU from price to true profitability, one deduction at a time.

  1. Channel Fees: Reference table of marketplace and platform fees for your channel: DTC, Amazon, Etsy, and more
  2. SKU P&L: The main grid. One row per SKU, with the full waterfall from list price to contribution after marketing
  3. Dashboard: KPI tiles, top contributors, KILL candidates, and a category rollup
  4. Reference: Integrity checks and a glossary defining each metric

Steps to use it

  1. Open Channel Fees and review or adjust the fee assumptions for your primary channel
  2. Open SKU P&L and enter cost, pricing, units sold, and marketing spend for each SKU
  3. Review the auto-computed contribution waterfall and decision tier for each SKU
  4. Open Dashboard for top contributors, KILL candidates, and category rollup

This template models a single channel; for multi-channel analysis, duplicate the SKU P&L tab per channel and compare contribution side by side. Decision tiers are built in: HERO at 40%+ contribution margin and top-quartile total contribution, GROW at 30%+ margin with smaller volume, FIX between 15% and 30% margin, and KILL below 15% or negative after marketing.
