Vendor & Supplier Scorecard

$49

The Vendor / Supplier Scorecard pulls on-time delivery, fill rate, defect rate, and lead-time consistency straight from your PO log, then combines them with communication and flexibility ratings into a weighted composite score. Each vendor lands an A-D tier and a recommended action, from expand to exit.

Works in Excel & Google Sheets

Template includes both versions. One price, no add-ons.

How it works

Quantitative metrics come from what actually happened on your POs; qualitative ratings come from you. The composite blends both.

  1. Vendors: Your vendor master: type, terms, quoted lead time, and qualitative ratings for communication and flexibility
  2. PO Log: 12 months of purchase order history: promise date, receipt date, units ordered and received, defects, and unit price
  3. Criteria & Weights: Six scoring criteria and their weights, defaulting to OTD 25%, quality 25%, communication 15%, fill rate 15%, lead-time consistency 10%, flexibility 10%
  4. Scorecard: The catalog table: per-criterion sub-scores, composite score, A/B/C/D tier, and recommended action for every vendor
  5. Vendor Dashboard: Pick any vendor from the dropdown for a single-vendor deep dive
  6. Dashboard: Catalog-wide KPIs, tier distribution, top spend, and risk flags

Steps to use it

  1. Replace the mock vendors on Vendors and rate communication and flexibility 1 to 5
  2. Paste 12 months of PO history into PO Log
  3. Adjust the weights on Criteria & Weights to reflect your priorities; they must sum to 100%
  4. Review Scorecard for composite scores, tiers, and recommended actions
  5. Use Vendor Dashboard to drill into any single vendor
  6. Check Dashboard for catalog-wide KPIs and risk-flagged vendors

Composite score maps to tier: A at 85 or above, B from 70 to 84, C from 55 to 69, D below 55. Recommended action follows tier and spend: expand for top-tier, high-spend vendors, maintain for steady A/B performers, re-engage for tier C, and diversify away or exit for tier D depending on how much you’re spending with them.
